How to use this tool

  • Set how many random letters you want to generate.
  • Choose the full alphabet, vowels, consonants, or a custom letter set.
  • Pick lowercase, uppercase, or mixed-case output.
  • Select spaces, no separator, commas, lines, or bullets.
  • Use a seed when you want to recreate the same random letters later.

What it is good for

Random letters are useful for classroom activities, spelling games, test data, layout placeholders, code samples, quick labels, and simple creative prompts. The tool works fully in the browser and adjusts cleanly for phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop screens.

Why repeat control matters

Allow repeats when you want a natural random stream, test string, or longer sample. Choose unique only when you want each available letter to appear at most once.

If unique mode is active and the requested count is larger than the available letter set, the tool returns the maximum unique letters it can create from that set.

Can I generate only vowels or consonants?

Yes. Use the letter source control to switch between the full alphabet, vowels only, consonants only, or your own custom set.

Can I create a continuous letter string?

Yes. Choose no separator and the output will appear as one continuous string of random letters.
